The Federal Government of Nigeria has welcomed Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Parrilla, on an official visit aimed at strengthening the long-standing bilateral relations between the two nations.

In a statement issued by Kimiebi Ebienfa, Acting Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two countries expressed their historic partnership, notably in their joint efforts in the abolition of apartheid and support for liberation movements across Africa.

This relationship has greatly contributed to the independence of several African nations.

“The visiting minister will hold a bilateral meeting with the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, to explore areas of further cooperation, including healthcare, education, agriculture, science and technology, and cultural exchange,” the statement read.

Both nations, united in their commitment to global peace and security, will also discuss enhancing collaboration in multilateral frameworks.

Parrilla is also set to meet with Nigeria’s Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, and President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, to deliver a special message from Cuba.

In conclusion, the Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to advancing shared interests with Cuba to promote peace, stability, and prosperity on the global stage.
