In a move aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of security operations in Ogun State, Governor Dapo Abiodun has announced the provision of electric motorcycles to the Nigeria Police Force.
The initiative, which is designed to improve patrol efficiency and reduce response times, was unveiled during the inauguration of the 5th Conference and Retreat for Senior Police Officers in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Governor Abiodun highlighted that the introduction of electric motorcycles aligns with the state’s commitment to integrating sustainable technology into its security framework.
“The provision of these electric motorcycles is part of our efforts to ensure that security personnel are better equipped to respond quickly to incidents across the state,” Abiodun said during the event.
In addition to the motorcycles, Abiodun revealed a partnership with a French technology company to deploy advanced drones capable of detecting criminal activities from altitudes of up to 8,000 feet.
These drones will provide real-time aerial surveillance, offering a strategic advantage to law enforcement by enhancing their ability to monitor and respond swiftly to emergencies.
The initiative underscores the government’s ongoing efforts to modernize security infrastructure in Ogun State and improve the safety of it’s residents.
