Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, on Tuesday received dignitaries including the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Former Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and former Niger State Governor, Mu’uzu Aliyu.
These dignitaries were on a courtesy visit to the governor at the Government House, Benin City.
Obaseki said he used the opportunity to call “for increased collaboration between governments at all levels and the traditional institution to tackle the problem of insecurity and other challenges confronting the country.”
He added that “If we must tackle security challenges effectively, the government must work very closely with the traditional authorities, who are well-grounded in the grassroots and know the people well, to bring to an end the security challenges facing this country.
