Osun State indigenes residing in Cote D’Ivoire have expressed their admiration for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s remarkable achievements in the state, praising him for the unprecedented infrastructural development that has transformed Osun in just two years of his administration.
This was contained in a news release issued and signed today by the Spokesperson to Osun State Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed
The Yoruba Community in Cote D’Ivoire, led by Chief Timothy Adegboyega, visited Governor Adeleke’s office at Bola Ige House, where they unanimously conveyed their appreciation.
“I have traveled round the state on three separate occasions since 2022 when you were sworn in. Your Excellency has transformed virtually every town and city without leaving rural areas abandoned,” Chief Adegboyega stated. “I must say that other members of our community have also corroborated this upon their returns to Abidjan whenever they have reason to come home.”
With over 2 million Yoruba people in the French-speaking nation, Osun indigenes form the majority. The group also invited Governor Adeleke to visit Abidjan, urging him to witness the tremendous popularity he has earned among the diaspora due to his impactful governance.
The delegation expressed gratitude for the major road projects completed under the Governor’s leadership and requested expedited work on the road linking Iwo to Ejigbo.
In response, Governor Adeleke acknowledged the praise and thanked the Osun indigenes for their support. “The road project requested has been captured in the 2025 budget,” he assured. “We will do everything possible to ensure that residents in Cote D’Ivoire are included in our development agenda. Additionally, my administration will establish a liaison office in Abidjan to help Osun indigenes interact more easily with their state government.”
