The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has revealed that more than 6,000 driver’s licenses are lying uncollected in Ondo State.

Dr. Samuel Ibitoye, the Sector Commander of the FRSC in Ondo, disclosed that a total of 10,038 licenses were received, but only 4,272 have been collected.

“Many people go around complaining that their driver’s licenses have not been produced by the FRSC, yet we have thousands of uncollected licenses sitting idle at our centers,” Ibitoye stated.

He urged applicants to visit the Board of Internal Revenue office in Alagbaka, Ondo State, to collect their licenses.

He also emphasized the importance of holding a valid driver’s license, warning that drivers without one would face legal consequences if involved in an accident.

“An unlicensed driver has no right to operate a vehicle on public roads,” Ibitoye added. “If such a person gets involved in an accident, the law will not be lenient.”
