Governors elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday converged in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, for a crucial meeting focused on national issues.
The closed-door session, held at the Executive Chamber of the Governor’s Office in Agodi Secretariat, saw the presence of several key PDP governors, including Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Peter Mbah (Enugu), Agbu Kefas (Taraba), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Umaru Fintiri (Adamawa), Ademola Adeleke (Osun), and Douye Diri (Bayelsa).
Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Akwa Ibom’s Umo Eno were represented by their deputies.
Conspicuously absent, however, was Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, whose nonattendance raised eyebrows amid ongoing tensions within the party.
Details of the meeting’s resolutions have not been disclosed, but sources say discussions centered on the state of the nation, party unity, and upcoming political strategies.
“The governors are committed to fostering collaboration and strengthening the PDP ahead of the next electoral cycle,” a source close to the meeting told Vanguard.
