The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced that its governorship nomination form for the upcoming Anambra State election will cost ₦35 million. The election is scheduled for Saturday, November 8, 2025.

In a letter addressed to Anambra PDP Chairman Chidi Chidebe, the party’s National Organizing Secretary, Umar Bature, stated that the PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC) had approved the timetable and schedule of activities for the election.

Bature attributed the price increase to the prevailing economic situation in Nigeria.

“The fees for the Nomination and Expression of Interest have been reviewed upward to reflect the current economic situation in the country,” the letter read.

However, the PDP has announced exemptions for certain categories of aspirants. Female aspirants and persons living with disabilities (PLWD) will be exempt from paying for nomination forms, while candidates under 40 years old will receive a 50% discount.

“Pursuant to the Constitution of our Party, female aspirants and Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWD) are exempted from paying for Nomination Forms. Also, youths below 40 years are to purchase Expression of Interest Forms but with a 50% discount on Nomination Form,” the party stated.

Meanwhile, other parties have also announced their fees. The All Progressives Congress (APC) pegged its nomination form at ₦50 million, while the Labour Party (LP) set theirs at ₦30 million. The upcoming election will see opposition parties battle to unseat incumbent Governor Charles Soludo, who is seeking re-election under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
