Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, yesterday swore in Peter Ogolo as the State’s new Surveyor-General and Permanent Secretary, marking a significant recognition of merit based on competence and integrity.

“Today, his patience, work ethic, and commitment have paid off as he ascends the peak of his career,” Fubara said, acknowledging Ogolo’s years of dedication and service, despite being sidelined by political circumstances in the past.

The Governor’s address also celebrated the overwhelming show of support from the Kalabari people, who visited in large numbers to express solidarity with his administration. Fubara shared his gratitude, stating, “I was pleasantly overwhelmed by the love & show of solidarity from the Kalabari people.”

The Kalabari delegation took the opportunity to commend the Governor for initiating vital infrastructure projects that previous administrations had neglected. These include the original Trans-Kalabari road and the Buguma-Abalama-Tema-Degema-Abonnema road.

“It was indeed an emotional visit,” Fubara noted, further assuring the Kalabari people of continued collaboration to develop Rivers State.
