Senator Barau Donates N16M to Families of Uromi Killings Victimsq

Deputy Senate President, Senator Jibrin Barau, visited Bunkure Local Government Area of Kano State on Wednesday to offer condolences to the families of the 16 travellers killed in Uromi, Edo State.

The victims, from Bunkure, Kibiya, Rano, and Garko LGAs, were mourned at the At-Taqwa Mosque in Sabon Fegi, Bunkure.

During the visit, Senator Barau assured the grieving families that justice would be served. “We will not take this lightly. We will ensure that the culprits are brought to book and face the full wrath of the law,” he stated.

The senator also announced a generous N16 million donation, with N1 million allocated to each family.

Barau revealed that two more suspects had been arrested in connection with the killings, adding to the 14 initially apprehended. He expressed his heartfelt sympathy: “May Allah grant them Jannatul Firdaus and quicken the recovery of those injured.”

In response, the Chief Imam of the area, Sheikh Zainul Abidina Auwal, expressed gratitude to Senator Barau for his commitment to justice and praised him as a leader who prioritizes development and progress.
