Suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has firmly rejected her six-month suspension from the Nigerian Senate, describing it as a violation of natural justice and fairness.

In a statement shared on her Facebook page, she emphasized that the suspension does not invalidate her legitimacy as a duly elected senator.

Akpoti-Uduaghan, who was suspended without pay for allegedly breaching Senate Standing Orders following her claim of sexual harassment, stated, “The illegal suspension does not withdraw my legitimacy as a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and I will continue to use my duly elected position to serve my constituents and country to the best of my ability till 2027 … and beyond.”

The Senate’s decision to suspend Akpoti-Uduaghan also includes a directive barring her from presenting herself publicly as a senator during the suspension period.

However, she remains resolute in her commitment to serve the people, rejecting the move as a form of intimidation.
