Abia State governor, Alex Otti has disclosed that the suspended Commissioner for Health, Dr. Ngozi Okoronkwo, is being proved over allegations brought against her.
The governor stated this at a media chat with newsmen on Friday night in reaction to claims that he sacked his Chief Press Secretary, Kazie Uko, but left the commissioner for health, when the duo allegedly committed offences.
He denied sacking the CPS, saying that he was redeployed to another agency as part of re-organisation in the administration.
Otti stressed that no appointment is permanent.
“Suspension of the commissioner of health is on allegation based on suspicion. Already, a committee has been set up and the result will come in.
“Nothing is wrong in suspending a person when there is a prima facie case. If found not guilty, she will return to her job, if not, she will face the consequences of the infraction,” he said.
Otti also vowed that he would not relent in efforts to bring killers of soldiers in Aba to justice.
“This government takes security seriously. We are leaving no stones unturned to ensure that everyone connected with that dastard act where soldiers were murdered is brought to book. We have been getting feedback.
“At the appropriate time, we will let you all know. We have empowered Operation Crush to crush crime anywhere in the state.”
