Tinubu Lays Foundation for FirstBank’s Headquarters in Eko Atlantic

President Bola Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, on Wednesday laid the foundation for the new eco-friendly headquarters of FirstBank Group in Eko Atlantic City, marking a major milestone in Nigeria’s economic development.

The 40-story tower, set to become the tallest building in Nigeria, symbolizes the country’s ambition and progress.

In his address, Shettima emphasized, “This tower will stand as a testament to our economic strength and vitality…a symbol of confidence in our country’s future.” The structure will set new standards in the financial sector with its environmentally friendly and technologically advanced design, making it an engineering marvel.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu also presented the approval certificate to begin construction, commending the vision behind the project, which will position Lagos as a leading global financial hub.

Femi Otedola, Chairman of FirstHoldCo, lauded the collaborative efforts that made the project possible, while reaffirming FirstBank’s commitment to continued innovation and financial inclusion.

“We shall continue to invest in cutting-edge technology, vibrant human capital, and customer-centric innovation,” Otedola said.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including governors, business leaders, and financial experts, all celebrating the realization of a landmark that will define Nigeria’s future in global finance.
