Suspended Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has explained that it was her husband’s suggestion for her to arrive by helicopter during her recent visit to her constituency.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Natasha revealed that her husband proposed the idea after the Kogi State government imposed restrictions on political rallies and convoys citing security concerns.

The decision to fly in by helicopter sparked controversy, as a large crowd of supporters gathered to welcome her in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area, despite the government’s ban.

“It was my husband’s idea. You know they blocked all the roads leading to my house, so my husband suggested we fly in with a helicopter,” Natasha explained during the interview.

She also addressed the restrictions, stating that she believed they were specifically aimed at her. “But you know, I broke no law,” she insisted. “I own the place where people gathered. I built the road that leads to my house. So, I broke no law.”

Her dramatic entrance and the overwhelming support from her constituents showcased her popularity, as she stood firm against the restrictions imposed by the state government.
