Ondo State Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, on Wednesday said his Ekiti State counterpart, Dr Kayode Fayemi’s absence during the recent visit to the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, by the South West Governors’ Forum was not deliberate.
Akeredolu, who is the forum’s chairman, attributed Fayemi’s absence to the governor’s engagement in Port Harcourt, River State at the time of the visit.
This was contained in a statement issued by Akeredolu’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olabode Olatunde.
The statement quoted Akeredolu as saying that, “Governor Fayemi was with us at the South West Governors’ Forum’s meeting held earlier at the Lagos House in Marina. He had to leave to catch a late flight to Port Harcourt where he was billed to attend the NBA Conference dinner.
“He sent his apology to Asiwaju as well as his good wishes. The rest of us who visited Asiwaju’s residence tendered same and extended Fayemi’s good wishes.”
