The Yobe state Executive Council has ratified the approval of the sum of N7, 022, 754, 651.11 for various projects in the State.
Yobe state Commissioner for home affairs information and culture, Alhaji Abdullahi Bego revealed this while briefing journalists shortly after the state Executive Council meeting chaired by Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni at the government House Damaturu.
A statement on Facebook giving a breakdown of the projects to be executed reads:
“The focus of the approved projects is centred at the Medical College of the Yobe State University and Yobe State University Teaching Hospital (YSUTH), the specialist hospitals in Damaturu, Potiskum, and Gashu’a respectively.
“The construction of Damaturu – Kalallawa 25.5 kilometer dual carriage way ending at Damaturu International Cargo Airport, 1.5 kilometer and 3.0 drainage at Shehu Sule College of Nursing and Midwifery, Damaturu and the complete rehabilitation of Kaliyari-Bayamari and Jakusko Garin Alkali roads.
“The Council also approved the procurement of additional equipment and gear for Yobe Radio FM/AM services, 20 Toyota Land Cruiser V6 Vehicles for vigilante groups to ease their movements across the state, runway light systems for the Damaturu International Cargo Airport, additional works on the Nguru Modern Market project”
The State government added that these projects are aimed at ensuring the sustainability and wellbeing of the people of the state.
