Lagos is preparing to host a high-profile event to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce (NACC), which will also mark the inauguration of its 20th president, Alhaji Sheriff Balogun, on April 12, 2025. The grand event will take place at the Lagos Continental Hotel in Victoria Island.

Themed “The Power of Co-Operation: 65 Years of Optimising Nigerian-American Economic Relations,” the gala will reflect on the Chamber’s long-standing role in fostering trade and investment between Nigeria and the United States.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State will serve as the chief host, with distinguished individuals such as Vice President Kashim Shettima and other political figures like Governors Uba Sani, Dauda Lawal, and Senator Barau Jibrin in attendance.

The event will also honor several prominent personalities, including His Excellency Americo D’Oliveira Dos Ramos, Prime Minister of São Tomé and Príncipe, and renowned Nigerian entrepreneurs like Aare Afe Babalola and Chief Michael Ade-Ojo.

Victor Ojelabi, Chairman of the Publicity Subcommittee, NACC, noted, “The celebration will also showcase the unveiling of the NACC’s proposed multi-storey headquarters and induct 52 new members into the Chamber.”

Special guest of honor, Vice President Shettima, and royal father of the day, Emir of Zazzau Malam Dr. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, will join key figures from Nigeria and the U.S. business communities to commemorate this milestone.

The event will also feature corporate sponsors like Zenith Bank, Coca-Cola, and Turkish Airlines, along with media partners including Channels TV and BusinessDay. The NACC has been a vital platform for promoting Nigerian-American business relations for over six decades.

This gala serves as both a celebration of the past and a look forward to future economic collaboration.
