The Akwa Ibom State Government has warned motorcycle riders to desist from using their rides in the state capital, Uyo.
A statement by the state government signed by Commissioner for Information & Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong said there has been an “illegal return of private and commercial motorcycles to Uyo metropolis against the extant enforcement regulations authorized by Government.”
It reiterated that for the avoidance of doubt, private and commercial motorcycles(except registered dispatch riders)are banned from being used within the Uyo Capital City Area.
It further stated that the Security agencies have been briefed to strictly enforce the ban on the use of motorcycles within the Uyo metropolis.
