Barring any last minutes change, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is set to release the list of his commissioner-nominees.
Reports say Governor Sanwo-Olu will send the list of the commissioner-nominees to the Lagos State House of Assembly this week.
The correspondence from the Governor is expected to be read out and discussed on the floor of the House before the weekend.
The list of the commissioner-nominees, which is yet to be made public by the Governor has started generating anxiety among politicians, All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains, and non-politicians, especially those who served with Governor Sanwo-Olu during his first term.
Some of the former cabinet members are anxious about the possibility of making the list. While some are positive about being reappointed into the state cabinet based on assurance from some quarters, some of the former state council members’ hope has been dashed as there is no possibility of them making the list, following the roles they played during the last general elections.
The list will be released this week and the nominees are expected to be screened by the Lagos State House of Assembly before their swearing-in ceremony, which is slated for early next month.
