Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has vehemently denied any connection to militant groups, rejecting recent fake videos alleging explosions at oil and gas installations in the state.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, Fubara stated, “Governor Siminalayi Fubara has no link to any militant group, does not contemplate any such association, and has no reason to encourage any criminal group or elements.”

He condemned the videos as malicious fabrications, warning that they were attempts to falsely tie him to criminal activities.

Fubara also emphasized that the communities where these supposed incidents occurred have refuted the claims, assuring that critical government assets in their areas are safe and secure.

“Security agencies should take note of these fake videos designed to misinform the people, and further paint the state in bad light,” Fubara urged, calling for swift action against those responsible.

He reiterated his commitment to peace, saying, “It is only in an atmosphere of peace and security that governance and development can thrive.”

The governor warned against efforts to exploit the current political situation to incite violence and sabotage, urging for calm and cooperation to maintain stability in Rivers State.
