Kano State Collaborates with World Bank to Improve Technical And Vocational Education

In fulfilment of his campaign promises, the Kano state Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has reiterated his commitment to rehabilitating the major Technical Schools in the state.

The Governor made the assurance at Technical Bagauda during an inspection today.

“We are determined to achieve our job creation agenda through Technical and Vocational Education (TVE)”.

Worried about the dilapidated condition of the school visited, Governor Yusuf said his administration is committed to ensuring a general renovation of the school’s classrooms, workshops, water and toilets facilities.

“In addition to the renovation, we will as well ensure adequate security to protect the lives and properties of the people domiciled within the premises of the school”

The Governor commended the efforts of a World Bank Project titled Innovation Development Effectiveness in Skills Acquisition (IDEAS) which committed two hundred and forty million naira for general renovation, procurement of equipment and teacher training for the three major Technical Schools at Bagauda, Dambatta and Ungoggo where each is expected to receive 800 million naira through the IDEAS Project.

The Governor also shared some words of accolades to the state commissioner of education Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa for his unalloyed commitment to reforming the education sector from the inception of the assignment.
