KWASU Authorities Denies Increasing School Fees

The management of the Kwara State University (KWASU) has denied increasing the tuition fees for students of the institution for the 2019/2020 Academic session.

There have been insinuations that the school had increased the school fees as acceptance fees that were formally N30,000 is said to have been increased to N35,000 while tuition fees now stand at N145,000 from N98,000.

According to a statement by the acting Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Sakah Mahmud, tuition fees of both indigenes and nonindigenous remain unchanged while all sundry charges from the last academic session also remained the same.

Professor mahmud added that the Institution, in the last 10 years of its existence, had maintained the lead as a fast-growing Institution premised on academic excellence, research, administrative uprightness, and the promotion of the core values of skills and integrity.

The University helmsman stated that: ”We have been determined as management and a workforce to attain a world-class status while placing premium on the welfare of Kwarans and Nigerians as a whole. This can be attested to by our numerous community development efforts, interventions and projects across the State and Nigeria”.

“We also focus on education that is responsive to the needs of Kwarans and indeed Nigerians. That is why we place emphasis on entrepreneurship and all other programmes which place value on solving societal needs, including the newly introduced course in community development.”

He also noted with pride that KWASU had always adhered to the rule of law, acts, and laws governing its establishment and operations.

Mahmud however, reiterated that the Institution’s commitment to providing first-class education in line with world-class standards, maintaining that the school fees had not been increased in any way.
