Lagos State Police have dismantled a baby factory operating in the Ijegun area of the state, rescuing 10 victims, including three children. Three suspects were arrested in connection with the illegal operation.

The discovery came after a tip-off led officers to the location last Saturday. Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, confirmed the arrest of the main suspect, Mariam Vincent, aged 35, alongside Orie Ruth, 23, and Ujunwa Ifeanyi, 18.

“The victims were kidnapped from different locations across the state and brought to the factory,” Hundeyin revealed. “During the operation, three children – Destiny, 7, Miracle, 5, and Success, 2 – were rescued, along with seven adult women.”

The adults rescued include Precious (24), Magdalene (25), Adaobi (23), Princess (22), Ifeanyi (25), and Amaka (26). All the victims are currently receiving proper care and support.

The suspects admitted to kidnapping the victims for the operation, and an investigation is ongoing. They are expected to face charges in court.

In a separate operation, police rescued two kidnapped victims in the Igbe Alagemo area of Ikorodu, following a violent attack on March 26.

The victims were safely rescued on March 29, after days of coordinated efforts by the police and local security teams.

Hundeyin said, “The area is calm now, and surveillance continues as we work to apprehend the perpetrators.”

The investigation into both cases is still ongoing.
