Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday inaugurated new classroom blocks at Keme Balogun Senior and Junior Colleges in Ibeshe, Ikorodu, as part of a broader initiative to upgrade educational infrastructure across the state.
This move highlights his commitment to improving the quality of education, a core component of his administration’s THEMES Plus agenda.
“These newly renovated and constructed facilities will serve as a catalyst for change, providing our children with the tools they need to compete in an increasingly globalized world,” Sanwo-Olu said during the unveiling ceremony.
He emphasized that the infrastructure improvements not only support students’ academic and physical development but also create jobs and stimulate local economies.
The governor added, “Education is the cornerstone of our THEMES plus agenda. It is the engine that drives economic growth, reduces inequality, and empowers individuals to break the circle of poverty.”
The new projects, which span across multiple schools in Lagos, include the construction of 18 new classrooms, renovation of existing structures, and the addition of modern amenities such as food canteens, Intro-tech blocks, and sports fields.
These upgrades are expected to improve school enrollment rates and ensure better quality education for Lagosians.
