President Bola Tinubu, former President Muhammadu Buhari, and other prominent figures have expressed condolences to Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Radda following the passing of his mother, Hajiya Safara’u Umaru Radda, on Saturday. She was 93 years old.

The body of the deceased arrived at Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport on Sunday and was transported to her hometown in Radda village, Charanchi Local Government Area, for burial. Among those at the funeral were Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf and Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi.

Tinubu, in a statement, described the late Hajiya Safara’u as a “selfless woman who nurtured generations of leaders” and highlighted her legacy of “integrity and community service.”

Former President Buhari also shared his sympathies, recalling the importance of a mother, saying, “No matter how big a person becomes, they need their mother.”

Vice President Atiku Abubakar also expressed his sorrow, noting, “There’s no loss like the loss of a mother, as she is often the pillar of the family and a source of wisdom and guidance.”

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum, led by Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, also paid tribute, acknowledging her “life of service, devotion, and dignity.”

Additionally, condolences came from other political figures and organizations, including the Katsina State Police Command and the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Katsina.

The governor, who is currently in Mecca for Hajj, received widespread support as the community mourns the loss of a revered matriarch.
